For you lovers of everything vintage and, why not, affordable, it pays visiting one of the ever famous Judy´s Vintage Fairs. I discovered this little jewel when soaking the vintage atmosphere at Vintage at Southbank 2011 last weekend. Take a sneak peek at it in this video.
Live since 2005, Judy´s Vintage Fair is the brainchild of the ex-Selfridges personal shopper Judy Berger, who set out to create a one-day cosmopolitan marketplace, a celebration of vintage fashion and homewares from the past sixty years.
In her own words “Away from the steep pricing and snobbery of other vintage events, the fair was to be accessible, exciting to every generation and, above all, affordable. Explaining her decision to ensure that no shopper is ever out of pocket, Judy sites a personal reason as well the obvious; ultimately, I wanted to create a fair that I wanted to shop at,” she says.
Their blog is as whimsical and quirky as the clothes, furniture and memorabilia you may find when digging in to their trunks and stalls. You can also browse it for the best pics of each fair, always handy when in need of some inspiration to combine all the bargains you found!
I was particularly in love with Judy´s furniture range, especially with some very special pieces as 40´s traffic light or entire china tea sets!
Next event in London would be the Bethnal Green’s Affordable Vintage Fair, Saturday 10th September at York Hall, 5-15 Old Ford Road Bethnal Green ,London E2 9PJ. They thought of every kind of attendants so you might be among those Early Birds and pop down ther from 10.30 or feel lazier and do you tour between 11.00 and 16.00.
